Summary of Position: This position is responsible for performing research in the fields of cell and molecular biology, assay development and animal work. Other responsibilities include mentoring and training junior students and postdocs, assisting in grant and manuscript writing, and lab management.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities: 50 % Carry out work such as cell culture, cell-based assays, and molecular biology experiments. Consult and participate with PI and other researchers from within and outside of the lab.
20 % Assisting with initial design, and implementation of state-of-the-art technologies to study nanomaterial entry into cells.
20 % Hits validation of proteomic screening with in vitro and in vivo technologies.
5 % Dissemination of results in scientific journals and at conferences.
5 % Mentor, train and provide work direction for pre-doctoral students, undergraduate and junior postdocs.
Supervision: No formal supervisor.
Working Conditions: The work will be performed in a multi-disciplinary lab. The person in this position will be expected to interact with researchers from multiple backgrounds.
Required Qualifications: MS degree in the field of cell and molecular biology and 2 or more years of post-graduate research experience in the related fields or BS/BA with four years of related experience. Ability to work independently. Experience with cell cultures and cell-based assays.
Preferred Qualifications: Solid track record in scientific publishing and writing Quantitative PCR, Western Blotting, molecular cloning, etc. Chemical screening and in vitro/in vivo validation Experience with animal models
