Responsibilities The Business Development Health Care Specialist will have responsibility for assisting UC Davis Health's Strategy and Growth Department (Department) in identifying, evaluating, and developing business opportunities for the enterprise. This role will be responsible for working with key stakeholders to evaluate new healthcare business opportunities that will improve UC Davis Health's overall market position, drive revenue growth, improve financial performance, and increase customer value. This role will work with key stakeholders to evaluate a variety of business opportunities that may include, but are not limited to, joint ventures, M&A, new programs, clinical service line expansions, and affiliations. This role will work collaboratively with other UCDH colleagues (e.g. clinical, operations, and financial) as needed, to draft business plan(s) that include cogent financial analyses. Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in relevant field (finance, accounting, business, economics, or other analytical field, e.g. math, engineering, computer science).
Several years demonstrated relevant financial and business analyses experience, ideally in a health care environment.
In-depth knowledge of business development concepts and functions
Proven ability and track record identifying, collect, analyze and report on complex financial data and summarize key findings.
Experience in using databases.
Strong strategic thinking and ability to be creative problem solver.
Excellent communication both verbal and written.
Excellent interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and deliver high quality results/reports under tight deadlines.
Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a complex, multi-constituency organization.
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office software and database applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Access).
Advanced use of SQL (Standard Query Language) (data mining and business intelligence).
Master's degree; MBA.
Experience with the Northern California healthcare market.
Experience in large academic healthcare setting.
Special Requirements Must be able to work occasional weekends and evenings. Occasional travel required. This position may be subject to a criminal background investigation, drug screen, Live Scan fingerprinting, medical evaluation clearance, and functional capacity assessment.
