GENERAL JOB SUMMARY: Lead the development and implementation of diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) initiatives at Kirkwood Community College (KCC). Oversee compliance with Affirmative Action and investigate discrimation and harassmenet complaints at the college. This position will continuously evaluate and develop strategies that align with the college's strategic plan.

Plans, guides and advises college leadership on diversity, equity, and affirmative action matters. Collaborates with College management to create, implement and monitor programs designed to ensure fair and equitable treatment of students, faculty and staff.
Lead EEO investigations that involve discrimination and harassment complaints filed at KCC, to include employee Title IX complaints.
Assist in developing and implementing DEI trainings and ensure compliance at KCC.
Gathers, researches and analyzes data for use in statistical calculations and reporting in order to meet federal and state requirements, including creating workforce analysis reports and ensuring that the College Affirmative Action plan is current and being followed.
Partner with internal and external individuals and groups to promote and develop college's DEI strategies.
Promotes College commitment to a climate of equity and inclusion through interaction with individuals and agencies inside and outside the College.
Communicates and articulates Equal Employment Opportunity and Affirmative Action policy for the general public, governmental enforcing agencies, political and community group leaders and grass-root organizations.
Oversee and ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations to help develop policies and procedures for DEI.
Ensure that KCC's DEI efforts are consistent with and support KCC's Affirmative Action plan.
In cooperation with the Vice President of Human Resources, oversee College HR equity budget and help coordinate and guide college equity groups.
Work closely with Dean of Students office on equity matters where appropriate.
Other duties as assigned.

Position involves working in an office setting. Occasional (10-33%) standing, pushing, pulling and grasping. Frequent (34-66%) reaching and viewing a computer and other types of close visual work. Constant (67-100%) sitting, walking, repetitive motion, talking and hearing. The position involves occasional (10-33%) driving to events and meetings away from KCC's main campus.
Bachelor's degree plus three years of progressively responsible experience in diversity, equity and inclusion work.

Prior experience in higher education.
