The Laboratory Research Assistant is responsible for performing research activities in a laboratory setting.
***This is a Contractual Position***

Essential functions include, but are not limited to:
Routine research activities such as: ELISA assays, preparing solutions, media, and buffers, cell cultures, electrophoresis, western blotting, RNA extraction and quantification, and genotyping. Perform advanced laboratory mouse surgical procedures and advanced laboratory techniques such as flow cytometry and FACS analysis. Administer day-to-day laboratory operations including ensuring quality control and safety compliance, suggesting procedures, and ordering of required reagents, components and reporting/resolving technical issues. Prepare materials for research studies, including sample collection kits and research documents. Assist P.I. in the training and guiding other laboratory personnel in developing policies, procedures and/or methods for laboratory experimentation. Perform other related duties as assigned.
Education: Bachelor's degree in biology, chemistry or field of study related to the research of the laboratory.
Preferred Education: Bachelor's in physiology, biochemistry, immunology, neuroscience, or medicine or in any field related to the animal science.
Preferred Experience: Experience with mouse disease models or surgical skills is considered a strength.
Other: Require training related to occupational safety and health, environmental compliance, shipping of hazardous materials and/or ionizing radiation.
