Research - Laboratory/Non-Laboratory, Staff/Administrative
Effort/Responsibilities: Bench work (60%) Perform laboratory bench work needed to provide NGS results to our clients. Act as a trainer for new staff. Perform NGS optimization and validation procedures.
Design and develop new methods (20%) Improve NGS procedures via all or any steps in the process (extraction, QC, library prep, analysis). Significant technical know-how will be required to achieve this.
Quality Assurance (10%) Conduct research and development work under a quality system outlined by AAVLD guidelines. This includes; writing and maintaining forms and standard operating procedures (SOPs) for test methods, equipment use and administrative procedures; maintaining equipment by performing calibration/ verification/ preventative maintenance and maintaining records of these activities; maintaining and evaluating QC records to monitor testing processes.
Lab Maintenance (10%) Maintain laboratory environment, which includes; inventory, purchasing, attending educational meetings, performing equipment calibration, verification, and maintenance as needed.
And other duties as assigned by supervisor.
All required qualifications must be documented on application materials.
Required qualifications: B.S. (Bachelor of Science) degree with 2 years of relevant scientific experience or a combination of education and work experience to equal 6 years.
