Reporting to the Associate Dean Undergraduate Programs, the clinical education coordinator will maintain the nursing program laboratories and participate in creating, directing, and implementing policies and procedures regarding the use of simulation, laboratory, and other clinical activities as well as the evaluation of student nursing skills and competencies. Working closely with School of Nursing Staff, clinical educators, and clinical agencies, the clinical education coordinator will work to create innovative problem-based experiences to help meet the program outcomes of the W.Cary Edwards School of Nursing.
• Master’s degree in nursing required • Simulation certification preferred. • Two years of professional nursing clinical experience. • Two years teaching experience in a pre-licensure nursing program • Holds a nursing license in good standing to practice as a Registered Nurse in New Jersey • Strong interpersonal skills, showing an ability to work effectively as a team member. • Demonstrates excellent communication skills.
• Maintain and manage all aspects of the Simulation Center, Skills Lab, including relevant supplies and equipment. • Assist in the development and implementation of curricula. • Develop policies and procedures for on-campus, clinical, and virtual student competency training and evaluation. • Develop and implement simulations, including standardized patient scenarios, skills lab and virtual experiences. • Maintain student lab, simulation participation, remediation, and outcomes records. • Monitor student clinical progress through the program, working closely with clinical agencies, school of nursing staff, and clinical educators. • Coordinate scheduling of simulation and skills lab experiences with school of nursing staff and clinical educators. • Participate in clinical and specialty didactic student learning experiences as needed. • Supervise per diem clinical nurse educators, including evaluation of competencies • Develop and implement clinical nurse educator training experiences as needed. • Recruit on and off site as needed • Perform other duties as assigned
