The Innovative Learning Technology Initiative (ILTI) is designed to meet UC campus needs for high quality online courses. The Initiative will enhance the educational opportunities and achievements of UC students by helping them get access to high demand courses, satisfy degree requirements and graduate on time.
Provide system administration for an online learning technology program for a multi-campus university system; serve as technical administrator for deployed systems, including the Cross-Campus Enrollment System (CCES), the Learning Management System (LMS), and other databases and cloud-based applications; design, develop and deploy technical solutions related to monitoring and patching systems and services; analyze systems and needs and write code; run and monitor batch processing, web services and application programming interfaces; troubleshoot performance problems; provide data services and account management for various systems; and evaluate new technologies and perform cost/benefit analyses.
Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology or a related field. Four years of experience in job offered, as a systems administrator or a related occupational title. The following skills can be met through work experience or university education with no set of time as a measurement of proficiency: experience with UNIX based systems, AWS and other web servers, including MySQL, Postgres, and Python/BASH; experience writing complex code for batch processing, web services, APIs to integrate data between systems; experience with enterprise cloud systems monitoring and reporting, including Nagios, and log monitoring, including Kibana; experience with automating Quality Assurance testing, including Selenium and JMeter; demonstrated knowledge of continuous integration and code release management tools, including Jenkins; demonstrated knowledge of computer security best practices and policies including demonstrated experience securing Cloud and server-based software.
