The laboratory studies the derivation of CPECS from human stem cells and the cell biology of the derived CPECs, as well as disease and aging-related features in pathology specimens of choroid plexus. Under supervision, the incumbent will perform routine experimental procedures and lab chores, including: cultures of human iPSCs and CPECs (primary and derived), phenotypic analyses of cultured cells, general lab support (making stock solutions, ordering, and maintaining lab databases), and maintenance of written records of these tasks.
Stem cell culture experience. Immunocytochemistry experience. Ability to read and follow detailed written instructions. Ability to record results and observations and maintain an organized, legible lab notebook. Skill to pipet accurately. Ability to use Macintosh or PC computers. Knowledge and operation of routine lab equipment (power supplies, incubators, hoods, etf) Mammalian cell culture experience.
