Job Summary / Basic Function SUMMARY OF JOB DESCRIPTION: Within the division of Student Success, the Coordinator of Recruitment and Retention will provide direction to increasing student retention and recruitment efforts. This position will promote the development, implementation, and evaluation of current and new student programs; college initiatives; orientations, and recruitment activities. This role will provide direct supervision of advising and recruitment staff and assist the division to accomplish institutional goals and objectives.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Develop, organize, and implement a diversified plan of student retention programs.
Create and implement student-centric activities that will enhance the out-of-classroom experience with emphasis on all aspects of campus life, community and student engagement, special and cultural events, leadership, motivational, and social awareness programs.
Supervise advisors and recruiters.
Coordinate recruitment and retention activities for the college, K-12, and business/industry.
Provide referrals to students needing services such as: tutoring, testing, career counseling, financial aid, disability services, etc.
Maintain & update retention (Starfish) software.
Manage recruiting and student activities budget.
Create and oversee LIT's Strategic Recruitment, Retention, and Enrollment Operations Communication plans.
Interact with the community through public presentations on student engagement and retention; college fairs; and various civic organizations.
Serve on college task forces, committees and councils as required.
Offer exceptional customer service in a student-centered, professional environment at all times.
Evening and weekends may be required.
Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications Minimum Education Required: A bachelors degree from a regionally accredited university.
Minimum Qualifications: Two years of work experience in a related field in either the private sector, with a state agency, or higher education.
Preferred Qualifications Preferred Education: A masters degree from a regionally accredited university.
Preferred Qualifications or Skills: Three of more years student retention and recruitment experience, proficient skills in Banner, Starfish, Argos, Microsoft Office applications, and supervisory experience.
