Job Summary / Basic Function SUMMARY OF JOB DESCRIPTION: Within the division of Student Success, the Testing Specialist will participate in the administration and support of the Testing Center. The position will assist with placement testing, national licensure and certificate testing for students, prospective students and the community.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Serves as the front office person greeting guests (in person, email and phone) with a professional, helpful and friendly demeanor.
Proctor exams, data entry, register clients for testing, and maintain testing records.
Maintains LIT's and testing companies policies and procedures.
Administers secure national and state exams and enforces testing rules and regulations.
Reports misconduct and irregularities to appropriate department, vendor and testing staff.
Maintains confidentiality and attention to detail in securing testing materials and records.
Performs updates to testing software, as required by testing companies.
Maintains paperwork and current data records on computer and keeps confidential records in accordance with institutional policies and testing mandates.
Serves on task forces, committees and councils as required.
Assists in the planning, organizing, scheduling, ordering and returning of testing materials, and the maintenance of the Testing Center schedule, rooms, offices and computers.
Ensures the testing environment meets requirements of vendors, i.e. temperature, noise level, seating, etc.
Maintain certifications to administer exams, adhere to hardware/software requirements for each exam administered and assist with updates as needed.
Assists with Testing Center presentations.
Completes purchase requisitions, order forms, weekly and monthly reports, and travel documents.
Assists with billing clients in a timely manner and assists with collections, as needed.
Minimum Qualifications Minimum Education Required: A high school diploma or GED.
Minimum Qualifications: At least two years of related experience, knowledge of state and federal regulations governing testing and online education, including FERPA and experience using standard office equipment and computers.
Preferred Qualifications Preferred Education: An associates degree.
Preferred Qualifications or Skills: Proficient knowledge and experience in Microsoft Office.
