The Division of Vascular Surgery at Northwestern University (Chicago, IL) is seeking to hire 2 Postdoctoral Fellows specializing in Vascular Regenerative Engineering. Successful candidates will join a dynamic and multidisciplinary research team focusing on the use of advanced biomaterials, stem cells and translational imaging for regenerative therapies of various vascular diseases. Specifically, the projects will involve clinical translational research in vascular bioengineering and regeneration, including the manufacturing of clinical-grade stem cell products, in vitro disease modeling and high throughput drug screening, non-invasive cell tracking via advanced molecular imaging, and development of novel animal disease models. The expected start date is Sept 1st, 2020. Applicants will work under the guidance of Dr. Bin Jiang, Assistant Professor of Vascular Surgery and Biomedical Engineering. Independently plan, perform, and analyze data from animal, cell culture, and other benchwork experiments.
To help write and contribute to publications resulting from research done in the lab as well as present findings at national and international meetings.
Work and communicate with internal and external research collaborators.
To supervise research residents, students, and laboratory technicians working in the lab.
PhD degree in Bioengineering/Biomedical Engineering or a closely related field; Strong oral and written communication skills are required; At least two published 1st-author publications in peer-reviewed journals within the past 2 years.
