Candidates hired into this position will be able to work remotely.
Under general supervision, performs in depth complex daily coding of inpatient, outpatient and global package delivery services received from physicians via Epic Charge Review and Epic Surgical Case Tool related to OB, GYN and GYN Surgical Oncology services. Accurately abstract CPT, HCPCS, ICD9, ICD10, and Modifiers as appropriate per clinical documentation. Queries and provides feedback to providers and other clinical department personnel. Performs other related functions as required.
Graduation from High School or a General Education Diploma; or equivalent experience.
Certified Professional Coder (CPC), CCS, RHIT or RHIA.
Three (3) years of comparable coding experience in OB, GYN and GYN Surgical Oncology services.
Strong skills in CPT, ICD-9/ICD-10, & HCPC coding applications.
Specialty certification in Obstetrics Gynecology – COBGC.
Experience coding/billing Medi-Cal .
Flexible to work variable hours, locations, and overtime as required.
