The Center for Inclusive Democracy (formerly California Civic Engagement Project) located in Sacramento, CA has an immediate opening for a Research Program Specialist. This is fixed term position through 5/31/2021. The position calls for work in interdisciplinary studies, focusing on questions of civic engagement and voting behavior. This position requires active involvement in conducting research on specific projects, as well as providing general research assistance to ongoing projects. The Research Program Specialist job duties include:
- Experience with web-based mapping tools using a facility allocation model.
- Expertise in Python and R Programming language
- Experience with GTFS data, Open Street Map and GitHub is a plus
Preferred education: Master's degree
Basic qualifications include: communications skills to engage effectively with a variety of collaborators and audiences; demonstrated skills in qualitative and quantitative data collection and analysis. Experience working collaboratively with governmental and community leaders is a strong plus.
The position involves a focus on public service, providing research to political, non-profit and academic outlets, in order to encourage voting in California and beyond.
