The University of Maryland, Baltimore (UMB), School of Nursing (SON) is currently recruiting for an Assistant Director of Admissions, Operations . The Assistant Director manages the admissions operations and processing functions of the Office of Admissions.
The Assistant Director of Admissions, Operations coordinates the efforts of the admissions staff with the goal of providing exemplary customer service to prospective students, faculty, and the recruitment and counseling sections of the Office of Admissions.

Oversees student recruitment and admission counseling functions. Engages with prospective students and applicants.
Ensures successful transition of the student from the admissions process through orientation.
Serves as senior staff in the Office of Admissions working in partnership with the Director to develop the office mission, vision, and values, while continually guiding team members to operate at their full potential.
In collaboration with the Director of Admissions and the IT team, develops and executes technical and procedural solutions to optimize the applicant credential processing. Leads the effort to ensure that admission documents are processed accurately and efficiently while meeting operational timeline goals.
Identifies customer service gaps and develops solutions to create an environment of service excellence.
Develops assessment mechanisms and collects data from prospective students and the Admissions Operations team that will be used to initiate opportunities for improvement.
Develops and maintains a successful admissions process that supports the enrollment strategic goals of the School of Nursing.
Represents the School of Nursing and participates in admissions related events.
Supervision of team members.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Education: Bachelor's degree in any discipline; Master's degree is preferred.
Experience: Two (2) years of progressive experience in Admissions or a combination of equivalent Admissions and/or Student Services experience.
Supervisory: One (1) year of experience at a leadership level.
Other: May consider a combination of directly related experience and education.
Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Experience with supervision.
Experience working with students systems (Banner preferred).
Experience working with a Customer Relations Management System (Ellucian Recruit preferred).
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast paced office that is characterized by; a high volume of applications, visitors, deadlines, and high student expectations.
Experience in optimizing business processes and ability to exercise sound judgement, discretion, tact, and diplomacy in a highly confidential and professional setting.
