Harvard Medical School (HMS) Office of Research Administration (ORA) provides HMS faculty and research staff with administrative support and issue resolution throughout the lifecycle of a sponsored award. Reporting to the ORA Manager of Research Administration Support Services, the Grant Management Specialist (internally referred to as a
5+ years of experience, with 3+ years of those years in pre- and post-award management experience (both federal and non-federal), required; a combination of education and experience may be considered
Bachelor's degree or other degree and/or occupation in related field (accounting, finance), preferably in a higher education context, may count toward experience. Outstanding attention to detail, strong written and oral communication skills, and excellent organization skills required. Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision, and to handle complex and confidential information with discretion. Must be customer-service oriented, be able to prioritize across responsibilities, and manage varied commitments, competing deadlines and shifting priorities. Proficiency in Excel required. Working knowledge of research compliance issues and federal grant regulations required. Experience with Harvard systems and policies preferred.
