Assistant Professor - Neurology, Memphis - 190000008S
The University of Tennessee Health Science Center, College of Medicine, Department of Neurology is seeking a highly motivated candidate for an Assistant Professor, full-time, non-tenure academic position.
Primary responsibilities in this position are to lead research investigating the role of plasticity in the peripheral and central nervous system following amputation and to provide supervision to postdoctoral fellows, students and research assistants. The candidate will be expected to develop experimental paradigms and implement and apply advanced imaging techniques on multimodal (fMRI and DTI) brain MRI data with a special focus on resting state functional connectivity. Must be proficient in neuroimaging analysis software packages (including FSL, SPM and CONN) and have excellent oral and written communication skills. Must be highly-motivated, enthusiastic, and detailed-oriented. The candidate must have the ability to prioritize and manage their own work, have a clear interest in and the ability to facilitate collaborative, multidisciplinary teamwork, as well as the ability to work independently. Requires a Ph.D. in neuroimaging or biomedical engineering, plus at least 4 years of postdoctoral training.
This is a 1-year position which may be renewable up to 5 years initially based on continued funding and satisfactory performance.
