Provides professional knowledge and coordination skills in various activities of the Department of Electrical Engineering. Responsible for effective relationships and communication with faculty, students and staff related to student matters.
Shared role with email and phone communication about the MS and PhD programs with applicants and potential applicants. Shared role with admissions processing for MS and PhD students. Assisting with orientation of new graduate students. Assistance with recruiting new PhD students. Record keeping and tracking of PhD student status and progress, and reporting as requested. Assistance with GTA selection and assignments to courses each semester. GTA and GRA appointments (financial aspects, including handling STEM tuition disbursements) and service indicators. Hourly appointments of graduate students, as requested, for research and teaching roles. Related end assignment and terminations associated with these appointments. Assistance with collecting course assessment data from GTAs and GTAIs (Machforms). Shared role assisting with Student Feedback Survey reports. Oversees status of PhD Milestone reports, sending reminders to faculty and students. Assists with PhD Diagnostic Exam: collects problems from faculty, prepares the exam (according to format), distributes to faculty for grading, and helps prepare final reports. Assistance with OPT and CPT applications. Other duties as assigned.
Bachelor's degree and two (2) years related experience or the equivalent experience.
Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills, general accounting knowledge, and experience with Microsoft Office applications.
