Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey is seeking a highly motivated Clinical Nurse Manager for the department of Medicine-Infectious Diseases within the New Jersey Medical School.
Under the general supervision of the Director, the Clinical Nurse Manager is responsible for planning, implementing, coordinating, and evaluating clinical/patient care activities.
Among the key duties of this position are the following:
In collaboration with Infectious Disease leadership, develops, leads and manages the quality and safety of patient care and an interdisciplinary team of staff that may include registered nurses, certified medical assistants (CMAs), or others who are essential to the care delivery model.
Leads and/or participates in departmental, hospital and/or system-level committees and task forces as a representative of the department, and the practice as requested.
Supervises clinical personnel's work performance and conducts an evaluation of staff's performance.
Develops and coordinates a clinical competency plan for IDP clinical staff in conjunction with Director and provides ongoing review of competencies to ensure maintenance.
Provides patient centered nursing care for patients.
Assists IDP leadership with tracking, attaining, and monitoring of programs/initiatives and regulatory readiness.
Ensures a safe environment for the delivery of health care, including fire safety, occupational exposure, biomedical review of equipment, and proper use of equipment and supplies.
Minimum Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing from an accredited college or university required.
Current valid New Jersey Nursing license required with current valid Basic Life Support certification, maintained throughout employment.
A minimum of two (2) years of managerial/supervisory experience required.
Equivalent experience, education and/or training may be substituted for the education requirements.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
A minimum of 5 years of progressively more responsible nursing experience with two (2) year in a position requiring general medical/surgical nursing skills, in an outpatient setting.
Two years of experience in the area of HIV.
Physical Demands and Work Environment:
Lifting up to 25 lbs.
May require travel to other locations.
Salary: $95,057 - $120,246 - $145,437
