The Staff Nurse I will be responsible for:
Reviewing power chart and outside medical records for surgical patients.
Performing telephone history which includes the review of systems, medication list, patient teaching and demographics.
Processing assessments for pre-op physicals and deviations/changes for patients with complex medical histories
Working between the Periop Ambulatory Care Coordination Program and Periop Care Coordination Clinic as needed.
Applying scientific knowledge to the process of diagnosis and treatment; provides a caring relationship that facilitates health and healing.
Adhering to the Board of Registration in Nursing rules and regulations, ANA scope and standards of pediatric nursing, the ANA code of ethics for nursing and other regulatory stipulations.
Collaborating with the nurse manager, assists in the coordination of patient care services for area(s) of responsibility.
To qualify, you must have:
Strong communication, critical thinking, excellent computer and organizational skills, as well as proficient multi-tasking abilities
A minimum of 3 years of experience required (previous pediatric RN experience strongly preferred).
A Bachelor's Degree in Nursing
Peri-operative (OR, PACU, Day Surgery/ Pre-Op) or Surgical (Inpatient or Outpatient) experience is preferred.
Knowledge of theories, principles, and concepts acquired through graduation from an approved school of professional nursing and current licensure as a registered nurse.
Work requires the analytical skills to resolve highly complex problems requiring the application of clinical, scientific or technical principles, theories and concepts and in-depth, cross-functional experienced-based knowledge.
**This position is part-time, 32 hours/week, Day shifts (Four 8 hour shifts)**
