The Petri Lab at the University of Virginia, Department of Medicine - Infectious Diseases seeks a Clinical Research Coordinator, Licensed, to work on an industry-sponsored COVID-19 protocol study of post-exposure prophylaxis. The candidate will work closely with study subjects and other research staff and will be involved in most steps of the research trial process. Candidate will perform some patient related care and assessments within the scope of their licensure. They will work independently and have the authority to adapt methods and procedures to meet the needs of the clinical trial. Candidate will be focused on the long term goals of the clinical research trial and process.
The Regeneron study will require substantial coordination and time in the outpatient arena. The Clinical Research Coordinator will need to reach out to newly diagnosed COVID-19 patients in order to enroll their household contacts. Household contacts will need to be informed about the study and consented for participation on-line. Consented subjects will need to come to the outpatient clinics in order to be tested for COVID-19 infection by RT-qPCR as well as for COVID-19 antibodies.
