The Assistant Director of Admissions/Admissions Data Analyst will be directly responsible for data life cycle management and administration of the Customer Relationship Management tool (Slate) for the Office of Admissions at Hobart and William Smith Colleges. This position is charged with providing the data-driven suggestions to aid the Admissions team in meeting their recruitment goals and enhancing the process by rolling out new functionality. The candidate will anticipate and develop methods/processes to respond to the evolving needs of our prospective students and our office staff, making the end user experience as functional as possible for both.
* Quantitative analysis of admissions and financial aid data * Execute high-level projects as assigned, including preparing reports for the VP and Dean of Admissions, the senior staff, the board of trustees, and various federal and state agencies * Provide continual training for staff on the use of Slate * Remain up-to-date with software systems and adapt processes accordingly * Assist with the execution of admissions communications and events * Work with outside vendors to procure high-quality student inquiries and applications * Build relationships with campus stakeholders that encourage transparent and accurate representation of campus data * Ad hoc projects as assigned
Bachelors degree/equivalent required. The ideal candidate will be a highly organized individual, able to work under considerable pressure and time constraints. The candidate should be familiar with college admissions and the changing landscape of higher education. Prior experience with admissions recruitment software (Slate PeopleSoft, PowerFAIDS) and data analysis is preferred. Demonstrated proficiency in use of Excel and database programs is required. In addition, this position requires excellent written and oral communication skills as well as strong customer service orientation. Candidate must possess good interpersonal skills and the ability to work independently and as a part of a team.
This is a full-time, 12-month, benefits-eligible administrative hourly position. Normal hours of work are 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. during the academic year and a possible shorten workweek during the scheduled summer hours time period.
