Summary of Duties:
The Department of Microbiology, within the College of Arts and Sciences, seeks a Post Doctoral Scholar to join our team. The College of Arts and Sciences is the largest college and the academic heart of the university. The College hosts 81 majors. Participate in collaborative project with the Anderson lab to determine how genetic diversity contributes to phenotypic differences in the human fungal pathogen Candida albicans; perform research in any combination of experimental design and research, informatics, interface with collaborators, and analyze/interpret data; assists in preparation of research papers and grant proposals, assist personnel in experimental design and data interpretation, and presentation at meetings; assist with training graduate and undergraduate students; stay up to date on relevant literature, data analysis techniques/software, and other related topics.
Doctoral degree in Molecular Biology. Basic molecular biology skills will be required; willingness to learn bioinformatics approaches including mastery of scripting languages (Python or R) will be required.
Some experience in bioinformatics or large dataset analysis is desired
Target Salary: $48,000.00 - $50,000.00 Annually
