The Central Sterilization Manager is a working managerial role within the Central Sterilization Department. Through subordinates, manages, plans and directs workflow activities in the following areas; decontamination, preparation and sterilization. Effectively follow safety and sterilization protocols to process all dental instruments according to the Center of Disease Control (CDC) guidelines. Requires certification as a Certified Registered Central Sterile Technician (CRCST) by the International Association for Healthcare Central Services Materiel Management (IAHCSMM). Certification needs to be maintained through the required CEUs each year through the certifying agency
Requirements: Bachelors Degree Certification in CRCST by (IAHSMM) Minimum of 5 years experience working in similar role Previous supervisory/management experience in a similar role Current membersip in (IAHSMM) Previous work experience in a dental practice management, hospital or clinical environment preferred. Certification in (CIS) Certified Instrument Specialist highly desired Must have good understanding of HIPAA, OSHA and CDC recommendations and requirements. Must have previous training experience and comfortable working with multi-discplinary teams
