The position is for a temporary part-time Senior research associate to assist with management and dissemination activities for several research projects during expected shortfalls in management staffing. The Senior research associate will work directly with the PI and the PIs lab manager to oversee the operation of two large federally funded clinical exercise trials, with particular oversight of recruitment and data collection by research staff, including management of regulatory documents and procedures. The position requires the ability to think and work independently, identify problems/challenges with research conduct, and problem solve. S/he will also work alongside the PI to assist with data analysis and writing of manuscripts and final reports for several concluding projects. The person may also be asked to assist with miscellaneous activities related to all aspects of current and closing clinical trials, as needed by the PI. We are looking for an individual with substantial clinical research experience and comprehension of all aspects of research including data integrity and dissemination. The ideal candidate will have advanced academic training in exercise oncology, and demonstrated ability to produce scientific papers and presentations. The Senior research associate must have demonstrated experience working independently and in executing all aspects of clinical exercise trial and with oversight of data collection of human performance.
Oversee management of two large clinical exercise trials: plan and monitor recruitment goals and activities; manage study staff involved in data collection; ensure data quality and integrity; problem solve issues related to running the trials; ensure regulatory compliance.
Assist with data analysis and manuscript preparation: Conductdescriptive data analysis; work with statistical team on analysis planning and execution; contribute to manuscript preparation through construction of tables, figures and text; assist with other dissemination activities such as scientific presentations.
Assist with miscellaneous research tasks: review and archiving of SOPs, regulatory documents, databases, etc
Doctorate degree in relevant field.
Master's degree in relevant field and 5 years of relevant work experience**,OR
Bachelors degree 9 years of relevant work experience**.
Prior experience in human research studies (including recruitment), data management and analysis, and writing IRB applications, and using MS Word, Excel, SPSS, Endnote.
Ability to work with PI and lab manager and other project directors to independently carry out research and related work
Experience with data management and basic statistical computing.
Experience preparing research progress and annual reports; writing manuscripts; preparing abstracts and presentations to scientific community
Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English language.
1 to 3 years of relevant experience.
Experience working on behavioral interventions (e.g,. exercise or nutrition) and/or working with clinical populations and/or cancer survivors.
Skill related to assessment of human performance and functioning.
Flexible hours including weekends and evenings as needed
