The Department of Otolaryngology is seeking a Patient Relations Assistant. This position is responsible for registering, checking out patients and scheduling follow up appointments and ancillary testing. This position will identify opportunities to provide a positive customer experience by monitoring wait times, resolve patient complaints, and collaborate to prevent and resolve service failure process problems; communicate with insurance providers to verify coverage and benefits; work closely with medical, ancillary, and clerical staff in a clinical setting. This position will also collect co-pays and payments from patients and maintain HIPAA compliant regarding release of patient information. Includes other clerical and medical records tasks including preparing records for upcoming appointments for 17 providers and 9 audiologists.
This position requires the ability to multi-task, provide exceptional customer service, attention to detail, excellent communication skills, both in person and telephone, organizational and computer skills.

Four or more years related customer service experience in a medical setting preferred.
