Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse for the Department of Family Medicine and Community Health at the Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School.
The Rutgers Health Group Licensed Practical Nurse, in collaboration with physicians, nursing staff, and other members of the healthcare team, and under the direction of the Clinician Supervisor, provides focused, episodic care to all patients in the Resource Unit. This care encompasses health promotion, health maintenance, and/or management of health-related problems that is delivered in face-to face or telephone encounters. Additional responsibilities include: delegation, direction, and coordination of the activities of Rutgers Health unlicensed assistive personnel to meet the needs of Rutgers Health patients with developmental disabilities.
Among the key duties of this position are the following:
Provides and documents nursing care within the scope of practice for Family Medicine Resource Unit patients, in face-to-face and telephone encounters; provides input to the plan of care by communicating information pertinent to the patient's status to other members of the healthcare team as appropriate and in a timely manner.
Engages in ongoing performance improvement activities to enhance the quality and effectiveness of one's clinical and professional nursing practice, and that of the Rutgers Health Group.
Demonstrates leadership behaviors in the Rutgers Health practice setting, across the profession, and in the community.
Keeps precise records for state mandated exams for all Resource Unit patients.
Works closely with the medical assistants in the practice to provide excellent clinical care to all Resource Unit patients.
Coordinates various aspects of the daily schedule; pertaining to patient procedures, outpatient office visits and consultations.
Minimum Education and Experience:
Licensed Practical Nurse licensure in the State of New Jersey.
At least one (1) year of relevant clinical experience is required, in a pediatric subspecialty acute care practice.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Effective oral and written communication skills.
The ability to function in a team environment.
Basic word processing and computer skills.
