About the Department
The Cyber Security Engineering Program is concerned with the development of cyber-resilient systems, which includes the protection of the physical, computer, and network systems. It requires a proactive approach in engineering design of physical systems with cyber security incorporated from the beginning of system development.
Cyber security engineering is an important quantitative methodology to be used in all industries to include, but not limited to, transportation, energy, healthcare, infrastructure, finance, government (federal, state, and local), and defense. The program is focused on the cyber security engineering of integrated cyber-physical systems. Our BS degree provides a foundation in cyber security engineering, and is most appropriate for students with a strong mathematics and science background. We anticipate having an MS degree by Fall 2020.
Responsibilities include teaching undergraduate and Masters level courses as well as service duties associated with the department's undergraduate and proposed Master's degree program.
Applicants must have received a PhD in Information Technology, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Cyber Security, or a related field, by the start date of the position. Applicants who have received an MS in Information Technology, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Cyber Security or a related field by the start date of the position will be considered for Instructor positions;
Applicants should possess a strong commitment to and demonstrated excellence in teaching.
Applicants in all areas of computer science, computer engineering, and cyber security will be given serious consideration. We are particularly interested in candidates in the area of cyber security;
Preference will be given to candidates with teaching experience.
Administrative and/or managerial experience is a plus;
Applicants with research experience and interests may lead and participate in research proposal efforts and research project execution.
