Research - Laboratory/Non-Laboratory, Staff/Administrative
We are a biology research group interested in how the dynamics of neural circuits drive behavior both in healthy and disease states. We are looking for a motivated Laboratory Technician to join our team with experience in molecular biology and working with the nematode C.elegans. The technician will contribute to the intellectual development of a project, attend and present at lab meetings, and have opportunities to take part in publications.
Maintenance, propagation, crossing and genetically modifying C.elegans lines.
Molecular biological techniques, including DNA and RNA isolation, PCR, and cloning
Behavioral assays, immunofluorescence imaging
Participation in general laboratory responsibilities, including ordering and organizing required laboratory supplies and ensuring maintenance of relevant equipment
This is a one-year grant funded term position with the possibility of extension based on satisfactory performance and the availability of continued funding.

Related (biology, biochemistry, or a related field) College coursework required.
Lab experience through working in a molecular biology/genetics lab for summers or a senior thesis for example
Bachelors degree (biology, biochemistry, or related field) strongly preferred
Skills in molecular biology and experience with genome modifications and genetics in C.elegans or other invertebrates preferred.
Ability to work in a team and communicate effective will be a plus.
