This is a night shift position within inpatient pharmacy operations, working 7 on/7 off. The hours are Wednesday through Saturday 7:30P â“ 7:00A and Sunday through Tuesday 6:30P â“ 7:00A.
Prepares and delivers medications to patients and/or nursing units under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist/licensed independent practitioner.Â
The UVA Health System Pharmacy Technician Training Program is here to help you start a career as a registered pharmacy technician. Our program, which partners with Pharmacy Technician University, will give you all of the skills and knowledge you need to be a versatile, effective pharmacy technician in a variety of settings including hospital and retail pharmacy. Training is provided on the job, and youâ™ll receive pay and benefits while completing the program requirements. Classroom and experiential training will take place at UVA Medical Center in Charlottesville.
Training includes: â¢Online classroom training through Pharmacy Technician University â¢Experiential training in our state-of-the-art community pharmacy â¢Preparation for passing the national certification exam
Candidates accepting a position will continue in their role as an inpatient pharmacy technician after completing the program and achieving their Virginia registration. Candidates must complete Pharmacy Technician University and achieve registration within 6 months of employment.
