The George Mason University College of Humanities and Social Sciences Development Office seeks a highly organized, energetic professional to serve as Development Operations Manager. The Development Operations Manager will be responsible for providing operational support for the Director of Development and the Development team members in raising funds to support the College. This person will manage office operations through data-driven, strategic planning to maximize the activity of the Development team, including reporting, event support, stewardship, recognition, and reporting for departments and centers;
In addition to budget reconciliation, gift reporting, prospect analysis, database management and administrative support, this person will utilize the University eVA system, process purchases for goods and services, utilize the University travel request system to generate travel authorizations and reimbursements, and manage other University systems to aid the Development team's activities, to include financial reports related to procurement, planning, contracts and foundation accounts;
This person will serve as the operations manager for appropriate CHSS advisory and alumni chapter boards, helping with planning, elections, events, and communications, and will serve as a point of contact for faculty leadership, board chairs, and donors regarding mentorship opportunities, speaking engagements, and other activities;
Under the direction of the Director, the incumbent will support CHSS events organized by the Development Department, and plan for the College's participation in future College or University fundraising campaigns by managing the schedule, materials, collateral, and database for the campaign.
Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent work experience in office management and administration;
The successful candidate will be highly organized and self-motivated, with the ability to work independently on a wide variety of tasks as well as part of a team;
Strong analytical ability in program management, database work, and systems;
Excellent oral, written and interpersonal skills, with a strong focus on customer service;
Ability and desire to master our database and reporting software;
Experience in office management, program management, and administrative support.
Experience in higher education or fundraising;
Experience with the University travel, procurement, and financial reporting systems;
Ability to utilize program management software;
Experience in supervising volunteers and temporary employees.
Salary: Commensurate with education and experience.
