School of Pharmacy, Division of Pharmacology and Pharmaceutical Sciences
The School of Pharmacy at the University of Missouri-Kansas City (UMKC) invites applications to fill a full-time faculty position at the level of Assistant or Associate Professor. This is a tenure-track position in the Division of Pharmacology and Pharmaceutical Sciences. The successful applicant will have an M.D, D.V.M., Pharm.D., or Ph.D. in Biology, Chemistry, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Pharmacology, or equivalent.
We solicit applications from individuals studying fundamental questions in Pharmacology that range from the molecular to organismal level, and we are particularly interested in those whose research program uses large-scale data and/or computational analysis/modeling and broadly addresses questions relating to pharmacogenomics. The primary attributes we seek in candidates are (1) demonstrated excellence in research, as the faculty member would be expected to initiate or continue an independent, extramurally funded research program, and (2) potential or demonstrated excellence in teaching and mentoring at the professional and graduate level.
The School of Pharmacy Sciences grants degrees at the graduate and Pharm.D. levels. Ph.D. degrees are granted in Pharmacology or Pharmaceutical Sciences. "Life and health sciences" is one of three areas emphasized in the UMKC campus mission. Participating units include the School of Biological Sciences, the School of Medicine, the School of Pharmacy, the School of Dentistry, and the School of Nursing and Health Studies.
Applicants must possess a Ph.D., M.D., Pharm.D. or D.V.M. and at least two years of postdoctoral experience.
