Responsibilities Radiation therapists work closely with radiation oncologists, physicists, fellow radiation therapists and other healthcare professionals to deliver accurate radiation treatments to patients, based on treatment plans developed by dosimetrists and physicists. The treatments include radiation therapy using photon or electron beams, high dose rate brachytherapy, low dose rate brachytherapy, total body irradiation, stereotactic radiosurgery, IMRT treatments and participation in research protocols. Patient services are provided to pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric oncology patients.
Graduation from an accredited radiation therapy school.
Certificate by the State of California in Therapeutic Radiology and by the American Registry and Radiologic Techs in Radiation Therapy , RT (T) (ARRT).
Knowledge of current practices in radiation therapy and brachytherapy.
Proficient in the use of linear accelerators, radiation therapy simulators, orthovoltage equipment and related safely procedures.
Academic medical experience.
Prior experience with Elekta Synergy/Versa HD and Tomotherapy equipment
Prior experience with Mosaiq / EPIC software.
Prior experience with AlignRT software.
Take the CPPN IV contrast e-module and pass a competencies check list.
Ability to assist in moving patients. Ability to lift 25 lbs and more for radiation therapy blocks.
Must be willing to work variable hours and days, including weekends and holidays, as necessary.
This position may be subject to a criminal background investigation, drug screen, Live Scan fingerprinting, medical evaluation clearance, and functional capacity assessment.
