Rutgers, the State University of New Jersey is seeking a motivated Postdoctoral Fellow for the Department of Pathology, Immunology and Laboratory Medicine within the New Jersey Medical School. Under the direction of the Principal Investigator (Assistant Professor), the primary purpose of the Postdoctoral Fellow position is to perform specialized research activities and design and execute advanced experimental procedures in an immunology-focused laboratory independently.
Among the key duties of this position are the following:
Designs, discusses, and performs diverse experimental models and techniques related to the study of T cells.
Contributes to general laboratory operations, including breeding and genotyping of mice and general maintenance of animal colonies.
Operates and maintains experimental equipment.
Records and analyzes experimental data.
Contributes to the development of performance standards, selection of methodology, instrumentation and coordination of the analytical, biochemical, physiology and instrumentation functions with the clinical and research areas to ensure conformance with the goals and objectives of the department.
Prepares and publishes scientific manuscripts under the direction Principal Investigator (Assistant Professor).
Attends and participates in seminars.
Minimum Education and Experience:
Candidates should have recently obtained, or be close to obtaining, a Ph.D.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Ability to work in a team environment and work independently is essential.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Physical Demands and Work Environment:
Must be able to lift or exert force up to ten (10) pounds.
