Goucher College's Assistant Director of Foundation and Corporate Relations is responsible for supporting the growth of resources for Goucher College from philanthropic Foundations and Corporations by researching, identifying, securing, developing, stewarding and reporting on competitive funding opportunities. The support will focus on Goucher's strategic emphasis in three key areas: social justice, global education and innovation. The Assistant Director will also be responsible for drafting and editing proposals and reports, and managing a small portfolio of corporations and foundations for the institution. In addition, the Assistant Director is expected to establish and maintain positive relationships externally with foundation and corporate representatives as well as internally with faculty and staff, particularly within the Office of the Provost and Office of Advancement to support the College's overall fundraising strategy.
Qualified candidates will have a Bachelor's degree and three to six years of experience in grant writing, securing and stewarding funding from foundations focused on providing support for education, the arts, humanities, and the sciences. The successful candidate should be conversant with Microsoft Windows software, proficient in the use of the Microsoft Office suite of products (e.g., Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint), as well as standard web-based applications. Candidates must have strong written, verbal and interpersonal skills; must understand the importance of relationship building, ability to work as part of a team as well as take initiative; Candidates must be able and willing to travel, and work evenings and weekend hours as required.
Preferred candidates will have a Master's degree or higher and experience working in a higher education setting.
