The department of Critical Care Medicine at the University of Pittsburgh is seeking a qualified Senior Financial Research Administrator. The Senior Financial Research Administrator will provide advanced-level support for financial activities in the research office of a fast paced clinical department. Working with a team of departmental research administrators under the Director of Research Administration, the incumbent will serve as the main contact for assigned pre and post-award activities supporting the department's sponsored research programs; provide analytical and strategic guidance about funding; prepare and submit proposals, set-up databases and spreadsheets, clear overdrafts and bring accounts into balance.
Pre-Award job duties include: providing guidance to investigators for building proposal budgets based on understanding of funding opportunities; effectively leveraging familiarity with funding mechanisms such as grants, contracts, fixed-price agreements. Proficient in university and federal policy. Post-Award job duties include: providing monthly financial reports to investigators and program managers; working with program managers to track milestones for invoice documentation. Prior University of Pittsburgh experience in the management of research or clinical trial funding is preferred.
Bachelor's degree in accounting, business administration or equivalent combination of education and experience. Prior work experience should include senior level work.

Department Details: Ideal candidates demonstrate flexibility in fluctuating between pre and post award administration. Quantities of pre-award administration may at times significantly exceed post award administration duties througout the fiscal year.
