Radiation Oncology provides outpatient radiation therapy using photon and electron beams to over 10,000 patients per year. Clinical services include low dose-rate brachytheraphy, high dose-rate brachytherapy, total body irradiation for bone marrow transplant, superficial radiotherapy, and stereotactic radiosurgery. The Comprehensive Cancer Center Radiation Oncology department provides treatment for pediatric adolescent, adult, and geriatric oncology patients.

Responsibilities The Senior Radiation Therapy Technologis provides radiation therapy treatment to patients. This position serves as the lead (senior) therapist, providing technical advisory and leadership direction. In addition, this position serves as a trainer and resource person for staff therapists, nurses, residents, and radiation oncologists.
Graduation from an accredited radiation therapy school.
Certificate by the State of California in Therapeutic Radiology and by the American Registry and Radiologic Techs in Radiation Therapy , RT (T) (ARRT).
Proficient in the use of Linear Accelerators, Radiation Therapy Simulators, Brachytherapy Equipment ,related safely procedures and ability to recognize when unsafe or hazardous conditions exist.
Experience and advanced knowledge of current practices andt techniques in Radiation Therapy.
Strong leadership skills to provide planning, coordination and direction to staff.
Take the CPPN IV contrast e-module and pass a competencies check list.
Ability to assist in moving patients. Ability to lift 25 lbs and more for radiation therapy blocks.
Must be willing to work variable hours and days, including weekends and holidays, as necessary.
