The UCSD Department of Psychiatry (http://psychiatry.ucsd.edu) at the UC San Diego School of Medicine is committed to academic and clinical excellence and diversity within our faculty, staff, and trainees. The Department is currently seeking psychiatrists to join our hospital-based services team, which includes adult and geriatric inpatient psychiatry, consultation-liaison services, and Emergency Room coverage at the Hillcrest campus of UC San Diego Health.

The primary duties of these positions will involve providing psychiatric assessment and treatment services to adult inpatients on our Neuropsychiatry and Behavioral Medicine, geriatric inpatients on our Senior Behavioral Health Inpatient Unit, or consultation-liaison services to the Hillcrest Emergency Department and Medical Center. The selected candidates will also serve as clinician-educators, working with the inpatient team and Residency Training Office to help train and mentor medical students and residents on the inpatient service.

Candidates must have an MD or DO degree, and be Board Certified or Board Eligible in General Psychiatry. Candidates must also be eligible for a California medical license or equivalent certification/permit as determined by the Medical Board of California.
Candidates with board eligibility or certification in Consultation-Liaison Psychiatry is preferred. Preference will be given to candidates with a strong track record in clinical care, collaborating across disciplines and teaching/supervising trainees . Experience assessing and treating psychiatric symptoms and disorders in geriatric patients and patients with serious medical illness is also preferred.
The appropriate series and appointment at the Assistant, Associate or Full Professor level will be based on the candidate's qualifications and experience.
