The Allied Health Department of Jefferson Community and Technical College has an opening for a Health Information Technology (HIT) Instructor.
The primary responsibility is to provide full-time instruction and leadership in Health Information Technology fostering an active and inclusive learning environment, maintaining office hours for mentoring and coaching students, success and retention activities, and utilization of Blackboard for communication and feedback.
Other duties include, but are not limited to:
Instruction of courses in the Health Information Technology and Medical Coding and Reimbursement programs
Assisting program coordinator in organization, administration, continuous program review, planning, development, and general effectiveness of HIT program.
Maintenance of program documentation for CAHIIM accreditation
Advising and recruitment of potential Health Information Technology and Medical Coding and Reimbursement program students
Interaction with community partners and local HIT and MBS professionals
Additional program and institutional support duties as assigned.
Salary based on qualifications and experience.
Certified as a Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT) or Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA), and must have at minimum, an associate degree. In addition, a minimum of two years of work experience preferred.
