The objective of Care Management Plus (CMP) began as a technology-intensive, innovative primary care model that reduces hospitalizations, lowers costs, and improves health outcomes for older adults with chronic illnesses. The team continues to focus on interdisciplinary efforts to improve the quality of care for patients with chronic illnesses using care managers and information systems. The evolving mission of the team is to better understand how data, information, and knowledge can assist in transforming health for our most vulnerable populations.
This position will support the Care Management Plus and Chief Research Information Officer projects with a specific focus on advancing the team research agenda and institutional capabilities.
The Informatics Program Manager will be encouraged to contribute to research planning, manage budgets, organize grant submissions, manage financial aspects of grants, and respond to new funding opportunities.
The ideal candidate will have skills in project management, research and publication to manage deliverables for a set of related grants and contracts under care management, HIT, care coordination, quality measurement, and pragmatic trial design.
Key responsibilities include:
Manage strategic planning for Care Management Plus team
Monitor budget and approve spending on team related items, including several grants and contracts.
Work with external research partners to attain research-related goals. Initiate and maintain good working relationships with primary partners to assure research progress is ongoing.
Assure major goals and grant timelines are kept. Monitor timelines and deliverables.
Travel as needed to program training, academic and professional conferences.
Supervise up to 4 RAs and assist in their professional development.
Masters Degree with major courses in relevant field and 3 years of relevant experience; OR Bachelor's Degree with major courses in field of research and 5 years of relevant experience
Ability to understand implications of findings in relation to scope of practice
Ability to maintain good working relationship with providers, and staff to improve research success
Ability to coordinate all aspects of project with principal investigator and staff Excellent written communication skills
Degree related to clinical or research science
Prior nursing, research assistant, or care management experience
Commitment to continued learning
