The OHSU School of Nursing in Ashland is located on the Southern Oregon University campus, located in the foothills of the Siskiyou mountains 284 miles from Portland.This campus offers three programs:a Bachelor of Science in Nursing, an accelerated BS in Nursing, and an Accelerated BS to Master's Family Nurse Practitioner.
Peer Tutors are responsible for providing academic assistance to undergraduate students in select coursework. Tutoring is not teaching, but rather supplemental learning for students needing additional assistance with course content. The peer tutoring program at OHSU utilizes both group and one-on-one tutoring to assist students with course topics.
Exhibit professional behavior and adhere to confidentiality requirements
Review and abide by the Tutoring Code of Ethics
Work with students in both group and individual settings
Have availability to meet with students (hours and times may vary between terms)
Coach students on in areas assigned by faculty: which may include: clinical skills, study skills, note taking, organization, and time management
Communicate with professors regarding individual student needs and progress
Maintain records of tutoring activities including time keeping and tutoring notes
Provide additional support to organization of SCLC as assigned
Must be enrolled in an OHSU undergraduate program of 6 credit hours or more
Recipient of work-study funding as part of a financial aid package
Computer and software experience which includes MS Word, Excel, e-mail, web-site search tools and internet skills.
