About the Opportunity: We are hiring a Research Scientist to join the Khoury College of Computer Sciences and Cybersecurity and Privacy Institute at Northeastern University. The ideal candidate has a strong track record of academic research publications and impact on the field. The candidate must have prior experience in the security and privacy of the Internet of Things, mobile devices, modeling cyberattacks against organizational networks, binary code analysis, run-time defenses against software exploitation, and deep learning. They must be passionate about working in a diverse team and leading group efforts to top-tier publications. They must have strong technical skills, in particular in software engineering and prototype development. Prior experience in writing strong grant proposals is also highly desirable. The candidate must be comfortable working in a fast-paced and highly dynamic team environment.
Responsibilities: Lead security research projects
Design, supervise, and carry out experiments
Author and edit academic research papers
Mentor undergraduate and graduate researchers
Collaborate with researchers across the institute, college, and university
Qualifications: Ph.D. in Computer Science or equivalent degree. Several years of experience at a research institution. Strong track record of academic publications. Prior experience in software development and engineering. Demonstrated expertise in IoT, mobile, attack planning, binary analysis, and deep learning.
