The School of Nursing at Salem State University invites applicants for a full-time, temporary, faculty position to teach adult health nursing. Successful candidates will have the opportunity to teach in our dynamic undergraduate nursing program.
We are interested in faculty who have a strong interest in educational excellence and in the preparation of a nursing workforce that can meet the many challenges of today’s health care environment. Successful candidates will engage in student centered teaching in both didactic and clinical instruction in the undergraduate nursing program. Additional responsibilities include, but are not limited to engaging in accreditation procedures, program evaluation, and service to the School of Nursing and university as needed. Participation in the governance of the University and within the School of Nursing is expected, including but not limited to, the development, implementation and evaluation of School of Nursing policies. Faculty are expected to also participate in the evaluation of all components of the nursing program.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Candidates are required to perform duties in accordance with the MSCA contract. Duties include teaching, advising, and contributions to continuously improve the department and university. The standard teaching load is 12 credit hours per semester. The position is subject to available funding.
A master of science in nursing; a minimum of 5 years of clinical experience and expertise in adult health nursing. Candidates must be eligible for Massachusetts RN licensure.
Possess experience in and commitment to teaching and mentoring in a multi-racial, multi-ethnic environment with students of diverse backgrounds and learning styles; experience in undergraduate nursing curriculum; instructional technologies; and program development and evaluation. Previous teaching experience at the college/university level is strongly preferred.
