Research Specialist I in the Research Group of Professor George K. Schweitzer
The position of a Research Specialist I is open in the research group of Professor George K. Schweitzer in the Department of Chemistry at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. The researcher will conduct laboratory experimentation in the production of inorganic nanoparticles.
Duties and Responsibilities:
The Schweitzer Research Group focuses on laboratory research relating to the production of nanoparticles to be employed as precursor materials leading to transparent gamma-ray-detector crystals.
The candidate will work on assigned laboratory research projects to produce nanoparticles as described above.
The candidate must be knowledgeable and experienced in chemical laboratory operations, safety practice, and reportage.
The candidate must have verbal and writing skills to yield periodic research reports and to contribute to writing research papers.
