UW-IT is the central IT organization for the University of Washington, providing critical technology support to all three campuses, UW medical centers and global research operations. UW-IT collaborates with University partners to advance teaching, learning, innovation and discovery at the UW. Organizational Development (OD) is an internal unit of UW-IT whose primary goal is to help unify the organization, create a work environment where staff can thrive, and support UW-IT in meeting established strategic goals.
The University of Washington is seeking a Organizational Change Specialist to play a key role within the UW-IT Organizational Development team. The Organizational Development team exists to encourage and nurture connection, collaboration, appreciation and accountability. OD works to unite teams, ensure fit of the right people in the right roles, build organizational and individual resiliency, improve processes, foster curiosity, and ultimately help individuals and teams achieve their maximum potential.
The Organizational Change Specialist will focus on organizational assessment and analytics, workforce development, team development, community building, and business process assessment and design. The incumbent will be expected to provide high quality and responsive services to support and foster an exceptional work environment.
This individual will work as a member of a team with a service approach and will have frequent contact with senior executives and program leaders. Cultivating the multiple partnerships necessary to be successful in this role is complex and essential.
Bachelor’s Degree in business, human resources, or communications or related field or experience.
Four years’ experience working with complex projects or operations involving multiple teams and deliverables, complex client or community interactions, and prioritization of multiple competing demands.
Be familiar with and, when applicable, align with organizational change management principles and practices.
Strong knowledge and experience using multiple technology applications including: Outlook/Exchange and Google Applications.
Experience juggling diverse work assignments that range in duration and time sensitivity, with frequent interruptions and emergent priorities.
Strong office and project organizational skills, attention to detail, ability to meet deadlines.
Exercise independent judgment.
Demonstrated excellent written/oral communication skills, technical documentation skills, user liaison skills, and personal interaction abilities.
Proven ability to work proactively and independently with minimal supervision.
Equivalent education/experience will substitute for all minimum qualifications except when there are legal requirements, such as a license/certification/registration.
Experience with Confluence Wiki, WordpPress, SurveyMonkey, Qualtrics, Jira, and Tableau.
Experience in higher education.
Experience in Workforce Development and Training.
Able to influence positively and effectively.
Ability to understand and adapt as necessary to diverse individual and team dynamics to successfully contribute to program outcomes.
Ability to handle sensitive issues with confidentiality and diplomacy.
Ability to create effective surveys, code qualitative data, and work with quantitative data for analysis and review.
