About the Position: The Office of Records is committed to serving students and the campus community by providing quality service that facilitates enrollment, retention, and degree completion, while maintaining accurate academic records for the University. We are also responsible for processing transfer credit, maintaining articulation agreements, with other institutions. Additionally, we register new and continuing students for classes, maintain academic records, prepare transcripts and diplomas, and reviews petitions for exception to University Policy. We are seeking an exceptional individual to join our team as an Evaluator I. The ideal candidate in this role should have a positive attitude and an active, energetic mind that is characterized by highly ethical practices and a commitment to diversity, openness, flexibility, integrity, and kindness.
Under general supervision of the Registrar, the Graduation Evaluator is a key member of the enrollment services team. This position is primarily focused on the timely and accurate evaluation of a student's entire academic career for the purpose of determining progress toward the baccalaureate degree. Other duties as assigned.
Essential Qualifications: Completion of a formal training program in academic records evaluation or one year of academic records evaluation experience or any 12-month combination of training and experience related to academic records evaluation. Knowledge of the format and interpretation of course records and transcripts of institutions of higher education. Knowledge of authenticating course credits and comparing records of differing formats, such as foreign records. Knowledge of campus curriculum requirements for majors, minors, terminal degrees, and special program designations. Knowledge of the application of campus resource guidelines for making determinations using various criteria. Ability to be thorough, consistent, and accurate in the interpretation of records against criteria. Ability to comprehend and interpret complex regulations or requirements and to apply them in the evaluation process. Ability to maintain resources which document and update criteria. Ability to explain criteria and evaluations to others. Ability to make accurate records. Ability to organize work to meet deadlines. Ability to safeguard the confidentiality and security of records.
A background check (including a criminal records check) must be completed satisfactorily and is required for employment. CSU will make a conditional offer of employment, which may be rescinded if the background check reveals disqualifying information, and/or it is discovered that the candidate knowingly withheld or falsified information. Failure to satisfactorily complete the background check may affect the continued employment of a current CSU employee who was conditionally offered the position.
Preferred Qualifications: Experience with degree audit performance tools such as Darwin, uDirect, uAchieve. Experience with databases such as MS Access. Understanding of university policy. Understanding of General Education rules and policies.
