The Center for Cancer Research (CCR), part of the intramural program in the National Cancer Institute (NCI) is seeking to fill a Senior Clinician (HS) position in the Molecular Imaging Program (MIP) with an outstanding radiologist with research experience and expertise in magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), position emission tomography (PET) and artificial intelligence (AI).
The goal of the Molecular Imaging Program (MIP) is to develop targeted imaging methods that accelerate cancer therapies. The MIP is focused on the development and translation of in vivo molecular imaging and MRI for early detection, monitoring, and therapy. Having invested substantially in equipment and personnel, the MIP is well positioned to address challenges that the field of molecular imaging faces.
This position is located at the NIH campus in Bethesda, Maryland. The NIH Clinical Center is the world’s largest research hospital which offers state-of-the-art facilities, collaborative opportunities, and core facilities for advanced technologies. The Senior Clinician will have available resources including funding for clinical trials, nurse practitioners, research nurses, and patient care coordinators. In addition, the senior clinician will have access to a robust clinical trials infrastructure including data management, training, protocol support office, regulatory support, information systems and technology, and data safety monitoring. Dedicated human imaging equipment for research includes a 3T MRI and PET/CT scanner. The Senior Clinician position is the equivalent to an Associate or Full Professor in Academia. In addition to having outstanding clinical skills, the incumbent will be expected to develop and manage complex clinical programs, provide oversight of a large clinical trial portfolio of treatment and natural history studies, oversee diverse clinical support teams, and foster collaborations with principal investigators within disease-specific focus areas. The successful candidate will be expected to manage a multidisciplinary clinical research team. Applicants must have a M.D. or equivalent medical degree and have substantial patient care, research, managerial, and mentoring experience.
Salary is competitive and will be commensurate with the candidate’s experience.
