Essential Job Duties:
The Accounting Technician will support financial processing and will aid in the collection and distribution of financial data. This person will provide reconciliations and reports for our centralized purchasing functions. In addition, they will process vouchers, journal entries, vendor create requests, and run basic queries. They will be the contact person for our merchant card account. This position will be responsible for preparing daily deposits to the Cashier's Office.
The Accounting Technician will be responsible for preparing and disseminating reports. This includes preparing budget to actual reports each month for program managers, reconciling the funds with manager reports, and providing monthly updates. This person will be responsible for maintaining our record retention schedule, and maintaining archived files, and working with surplus property.
This position will assist with managing facility ticket requests, and working on facility related projects.
The position is expected to convey basic information about policy, procedure, and form. This includes responding to phone calls, emails, and office drop ins. This person will assist with compiling and sending information for emails, websites, and other business communications.
This position will act as a backup for purchasing tasks normally completed by other school staff. This position will assist other office staff with daily processing and administrative tasks as needed.
Must have previous experience working with PeopleSoft Financials. Thorough knowledge of accounting principles and practices. *Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Excel Must possess excellent communication skills, both orally and in written documentation; and have ability to understand and disseminate financial information to customers. *Strong problem solving skills required, and ability to work with deadlines in a fast paced environment. *Excellent customer service skill are a must.
Prefer prior experience with UNC's Infoporte and ConnectCarolina
