The ideal candidate will demonstrate a passion for collaborative work with diverse faculty, staff and students and an ability to positively influence, mentor and work with a diverse student population. This person will effectively work with regulatory policies, accreditation standards and College/Union requirements for the effective management of the Practical Nursing program. The candidate will have recent direct pediatrics patient care nursing experience.
Primary responsibilities include participation in classroom instruction and the development of and evaluation of courses across the Practical Nursing curricula; supervision of students in the clinical, laboratory and simulation settings; and academic advising. Adheres to faculty responsibilities in accordance with regulations set forth by the Massachusetts Board of Registration in Nursing (MABORN), and standards set forth by the Accreditation Commission of Nursing Education (ACEN) standards.
Key Responsibilities and Duties
The list includes but is not limited to the following:
Prepares syllabi and course materials, including writing, vetting, evaluating and participating in exam questions and item analysis;
Assigns, supervises and evaluates students in the clinical setting. Plans clinical experiences for, provides supervision of and appropriately evaluates and documents student delivery of safe nursing care to an individual or group of individuals;
Actively participates in the development and implementation of a written systematic evaluation plan of all components of the nursing program, including the assessment of graduate student learning outcomes and nursing competencies;
Actively participates in the assessment of course and program learning outcomes (student achievement) in accordance with MA BORN and ACEN standards;
Collects, analyzes, and utilizes appropriate data to evaluate and revise course and program student learning outcomes;
Develops/revises curricula based upon evidence (curriculum plan);
Develop and revise program policies that are consistent with parent institution with differences justified based on program goals;
Recommend to the DON and faculty colleagues suitable and comprehensive instructional material, textbooks, clinical sites, and library acquisitions and other learning resources;
Demonstrates proficiency in technological skills in face-to-face, remote or online classroom and simulation and clinical settings (e.g. Microsoft Office Suite, online learning platform/Blackboard, electronic health records, simulation) and ability to use technology effectively to communicate with students and colleagues and to enhance classroom learning as appropriate;
Engage in professional development activities to maintain excellence and expertise in classroom/clinical/simulation teaching and the discipline of nursing;
Practices cultural competence;
Carry out other related duties as assigned
Adhere to Massachusetts Community College Contract including but not limited to:
Academic advisor to students;
Post and maintain a minimum of four (4) office hours per week;
Serve on College committees (college governance) as elected or appointed;
Attend Division, Department, and Committee meetings;
Serve on Nursing Program committees;

Earned Master's Degree in Nursing.
Hold a current unencumbered Massachusetts RN License, or able to obtain;
Possess a minimum of three years full-time experience in nursing, or its equivalent, within the last five years, and
have one year of direct pediatrics patient care nursing experience within the last five years;
Previous academic teaching experience in the college setting and/or clinical teaching experience .
Maintain expertise appropriate to teaching responsibilities;
Maintain current health and immunizations for clinical clearance;
Maintain Health Care Provider CPR level appropriate to teaching responsibilities;
Excellent interpersonal skills, oral and written communication skills;
Ability to use a personal computer and associated peripherals and current version of Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Office, Internet, and alternative delivery systems (e.g., internet and interactive video) at a proficient level;
Embraces Simulation and online/remote learning technology.
Experience with nursing program accreditation.
Experience working with the State Board of Nursing.

Salary Range: $60,000-$70,000, depending on education and experience
