The Department of Communication Disorders (CSD) in the School of Health and Rehabilitation Sciences (SHRS) at the University of Pittsburgh is seeking a qualified Senior Department Administrator. The Senior Department Administrator will be responsible for providing advanced-level support for the administrative, human resource, and financial activities of the Department of Communication Science and Disorders in the School of Health and Rehabilitation Sciences. Responsibilities include the development and management of all budget, fiscal, and personnel related activities for the department.
The incumbent will be responsible for the review, allocation, and approval of all fiscal budgets, monitoring and reconciliation of budgetary reports, review and approval of all expenditures, reports, disbursements, and cost transfers. The incumbent will be responsible for the monitoring of budget variances, forecasting, reconciliation of billing statements, and fiscal reports. The Senior Department Administrator will be expected to perform complex fiscal analyses and the preparation of advanced-level financial reports. The Senior Department Administrator will be responsible for the completion of monthly financial reporting, budget forecasting, and program projections. The position will require regular communication with the department chair, vice chairs, CSD faculty and staff, and SHRS administration.
The Senior Department Administrator will be responsible for management of human resources and payroll related activities, the development and implementation of all processes related to staff and workforce planning, and the management of all human resource activities (e.g., support in the creation of position descriptions, advertising, and the coordination of interviews and hiring processes). The incumbent will be responsible for providing information to the department chair, vice chairs, CSD faculty and staff regarding programs, policies, and regulations related to departmental operations.
Master's degree (MBA) or healthcare related management degree (MHA) preferred. Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Business, Finance, Management, or related discipline, with 3-5 years of fiscal management experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
