Bachelor's degree in music education and Master's degree in music, education, or music education
Five or more years experience as a public school music teacher (general, instrumental, and vocal), including work as a mentor teacher for student interns
Experience with distance/remote learning and associated technologies
Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
Minimum of ten years experience as a public school music teacher
Experience working in Professional Development Schools (PDS)
University level music education teaching experience (including supervising music education student interns) using student-centered learning strategies
About the Opportunity:
The Music Program at Plymouth State University invites candidates to apply for a one-year, non-tenure track, full-time benefited Teaching Faculty position as Coordinator of Music Education beginning August, 2020. The teaching load is 30 to 32 credits per year. The candidate will also be expected to advise undergraduate students and provide service to the university.
Part of the Fine and Performing Arts Academic Unit at Plymouth State, the Music Program offers the BS degree in Music Education and BA degree in Music. The Program also offers a minor in Music, as well as coursework that can be applied toward Interdisciplinary Studies majors. In addition to its academic degrees, the Program sponsors several groups that provide students from across campus with opportunities to perform.
